Trivandrum Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) of Milma has announced an incentive of Rs 2.50 on each litre of milk procured from dairy farmers in four southern districts during Onam.
TRCMPU Administrative Committee Convener N Bhasurangan said the incentive, which will be shared between dairy farmers (Rs 2) and the respective cooperative societies (50 paisa), will be given considering the amount of milk supplied by the primary dairy cooperatives to TRCMPU in June this year.
Noting that TRCMPU aims record sale of milk and milk products, Shri Bhasurangan said TRCMPU was able to make profit through great efforts in all adverse situations and this year’s projects have been conceived with the aim of providing the entire benefits to primary dairy cooperatives and dairy farmers.
“Financial assistance of Rs 15,000 each will be given to 500 needy farmers for the renovation of cattle sheds. Steps have been completed for the distribution of cow mats with 50 percent subsidy,” he said.
Bhasurangan added that 20 artificial insemination centres will be set up this year in addition to the 19 centres started during April 2023
