Karimnagar Dairy Chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao has said that Artificial Insemination technicians and first-aid workers play a key role in increasing milk production to meet the growing demand for milk and milk products in Telangana State.

Rajeshwar Rao was participating in the valedictory function of a month long theory classes conducted for AI technicians also known as Gopal Mitras on the Karimnagar dairy premises in Karimnagar town on Wednesday.

The dairy selected 24 youth from various parts of integrated Karimnagar district as AI technicians and launched four months of institutional training including one month theory and three months practical in the fields. The participants were provided free boarding and lodging facilities during the theory classes.Hyderabad News

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeshwara Rao said the dairy was on a mission mode to increase milk production in the district as part of its expansion programme of setting up another mega dairy project in Nallagonda village of Thimmapur mandal in the district. Accordingly, they had opened bulk milk cooling units in various parts of the integrated Karimnagar district and adjoining districts, he stated.

“Now, it is the time for the AI technicians to take all measures to increase milk production by taking up artificial insemination at the doorstep of dairy farmers with the support of Karimnagar dairy officials”, he added.

He said that the technicians were well-trained to identify the diseases of milking animals and provide necessary treatment with the support of veterinary doctors.

He also said that the Chief Minister had also instructed the authorities to take the support of Karimnagar dairy in launching the dairy units as part of Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme.
