Telangana State Dairy Development Co-operative Federation Limited has proposed to establish a mega-dairy plant of five lakh litres per day (LLPD) expandable to eight LLPD capacity, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said on Tuesday.
With the creation of mega dairy plant, it is likely to provide 110 jobs directly and thousands of youth may benefit in-directly, he said. He said the Vijaya Dairy, which was on the verge of closure due to the apathetic attitude of officials in undivided Andhra Pradesh, was revived completely, the Minister said in Telangana Legislative Council.
“Telangana Vijaya Dairy is now back on track following an initiative taken up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. A financial incentive extended to dairy farmers for supplying milk has also benefited them,” he said. The Minister assured that he would consider the suggestions given by the members with respect to dairies in Karimnagar and Nalgonda.
