Impact of gst on dairy industry IDA dairynews7x7

The GST Council at its meeting held on July 1, 2022 have removed the exemptions on GST on repackaged, relabeled and packaged butter milk, curd, lassi and paneer. The decision states that the above products will be charged GST @ 5%. GST Council have also raised the GST on dairy machinery and milking machines from existing 12% to 18%. In order to discuss the likely fall out of the declared GST on the overall economy of the dairy industry, IDA has convened a meeting of stake holders to discuss this whole issue on 6th July 2022 at 11 am at IDA House, New Delhi. All the CEOs of the industry or their representatives are requested to attend the meeting either physically or through ZOOM platform, so that a consolidated view can be placed before GOI, the Finance Minister, and the members of the GST Council for rolling back the GST on essential dairy items.SHOW LESS
