NABARD announces DEDS scheme for this year

The coveted dairy entrepreneurship Development scheme for this year has been announced. Under the scheme . Under this scheme which was kicked off in September 2010, the government offers subsidy up to 33.33%. The scheme offers loans for various activities to the dairy farmer entrepreneur . Under this scheme there is a provision of loan up to Rs 7 lakh for a 10 unit cattle farm with a backend subsidy of 25% for general and 33.33% for SC/ST candidate. For rearing of calves the scheme would offer Rs 9 lakhs for 20 heifers. The farmers could also install a milk cooling unit up to 5000 Liters per day with all latest machines with Rs 20 lakhs and setup their own indigenous milk processing plant with Rs 13.20 lakhs support. One could have loan from commercial banks, regional banks, state co-operative banks, state cooperative agriculture and rural development bank and other institutions that are eligible for refinancing from NABARD. The applicant requires a copy of business plan, identity card, caste certificate and mortgage land for any loan above Rs 1 lakh.
